Responsibilities
Provide technical support, guidance, and expertise for the full project cycle, including system planning, routing & siting, stakeholder engagement, regulatory, estimating, engineering & design, procurement, scheduling, construction, commissioning and asset management.
Independently manage all technical aspects of transmission line design projects, including structural design and analysis, foundation design and overhead system design. Projects cover new lines, rebuild/upgrade of existing lines, relocation of lines, and emergency response.
Conduct engineering design and analysis for all aspects of transmission line design, including survey/LiDAR data processing, structure/conductor/insulator optimization, DRD/loading tree design, PLS CADD/Pole/Tower/Caisson analysis, construction coordination and supervision.
Serve as a subject matter expert and provide input to Asset Management, System Planning, Regulatory, Standards, Office of the Chief Engineer, and other ENMAX groups involved in transmission projects.
Generate and review all engineering/technical project documents, including NID documents, functional specifications, material/construction specifications, project scopes, construction/design scopes of work, bill of materials, and tender packages.
Oversee and ensure the quality of engineering deliverables from internal and external consultants, ensuring compliance with ENMAX Corporation standards, codes, regulations and public safety requirements.
Identify, explore, and propose solutions and improvements to technical practices, components, and processes for team lead and manager review.
Work with internal and external customers and technical experts to determine the complete project scope for complex projects, including all required technical deliverables, interdependencies, and technical risks.
Provide guidance to stakeholders reviewing construction Requests for Information and consult with required parties, providing responses in the form of Field Instructions or direct construction support on site.
Ensure the safety of staff, contractors, and the public is paramount throughout all activities.

Education Required
P.Eng status with the Association of Professionals in Engineering and Geoscience in Alberta (APEGA).
Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred).
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of progressive experience in transmission line design.
Strong proficiency with PLS CADD/POLE/TOWER/CAISSON.
Experience with HV underground lines (138kV+) is an asset.
Utility work experience is an asset.
Experience with regulatory application filings is an asset.
Experience in stakeholder engagement discussions is an asset.

Proven ability to lead technical workstreams and coordinate multi‑discipline stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, high‑quality outcomes.
Strong consultant/contractor management skills (scope definition, direction, review/acceptance of deliverables, quality assurance).
Strong engineering judgment and decision‑making in ambiguous or complex situations, including escalation when appropriate.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with internal groups (Asset Management, Planning, Standards, Regulatory) and external parties.

Location ENMAX Place, 141 – 50 Ave. SE, Calgary, Alberta. This role operates on a hybrid schedule: work from home on Mondays and Fridays, and in‑office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
