Education Coordinator — Full-Time, In-Person
Oxford Learning · 6270 Quinpool Road, Halifax
What We Need Most
Above all, we're looking for someone who builds trust with families quickly and naturally and who picks up new systems and routines fast. If that's you, the rest will follow.
About the Role
Oxford Learning is looking for a dynamic, organized, people-focused Education Coordinator to run the day-to-day of our learning centre - working closely with students, parents, teachers and administration to make sure every family who walks through our doors has an exceptional experience.
This is a full-time, in-person role based in Halifax and Bedford, transitioning quickly to a consistent 35–40 hours/week. Because family and student needs don't always follow a fixed clock, we're looking for a self-starter who's comfortable stepping up when the centre gets busy — not just someone who wants a predictable 9-to-5.
What You'll Do
- Guide prospective families through Oxford Learning programs and be their first point of contact
- Build ongoing relationships with parents, communicating regularly on student progress
- Coordinate student, teacher and assessment schedules
- Organize and administer assessments, then develop individualized learning plans from the results
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed
- Support daily centre operations, including opening/closing and maintaining a clean, welcoming space
Who You Are
- A natural relationship-builder - warm, professional and quick to earn trust with both children and adults
- A fast learner who picks up new tools, systems and routines
- A self-starter who takes initiative
- Comfortable with technology and Google Workspace
- Highly organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced, people-facing environment
- Coachable and open to feedback
Requirements
- University degree
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Experience in customer service, education, administration, coaching or another people-focused role
- Able to commute to both Halifax and Bedford locations
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check
Nice to Have
- Bachelor of Education or teaching certification
- Strong secondary math and science skills
- Experience supporting students with learning differences
- Bilingualism (French/English or other languages)
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule
- 35–40 hours/week: Monday–Friday afternoons/evenings, Saturday mornings
- Weekly schedule provided in advance, with flexibility expected during busy periods (assessments, new-family starts)
Salary:
- $22 – $25 / hour to start, plus 4% vacation pay
What We Offer
- A clear path to long-term growth within the company
- Paid training and ongoing professional development
- Coaching, mentorship and leadership opportunities
- A collaborative, supportive team
- Meaningful work helping students and families succeed
- Staff appreciation events and team activities
