We are the Amazon Now team and are in the early innings of an exciting new initiative – deliveries in under 30 minutes. We are looking for a Software Engineer for the Amazon Now team to help ensure we have a compelling and friction‑free ‘delivery in minutes’ experience available to our customers, and help drive continuous innovation and improvement of the delivery experience across all phases of shopping, buying, and post‑purchase.
Key job responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable customer‑facing applications and backend services for the Amazon Now platform
Collaborate with Senior SDEs, Principal Engineers, TPMs, and Product Managers to define technical solutions that solve customer problems at scale
Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code following Amazon's engineering best practices
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning sessions
Own the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment and operations
Drive continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and seller experience
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to raising the engineering bar across the team
Work in a fast‑paced, agile environment with rapid iteration cycles

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
