Work Schedule: 36.25 hours/week
Role Overview
The Government of Alberta is seeking a Senior Communications/Training Specialist to support the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS) initiative within Environment & Protected Areas (EPA).
The resource will design, develop, maintain, and deliver training and communication materials that enable effective DRAS adoption across the organization. The role focuses on translating business processes and system functionality into practical user-focused learning solutions and supporting virtual training delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Training & Learning Development
- Develop and maintain:
- User guides
- Job aids
- Presentations
- Scenario-based learning resources
- Platform support materials
- Create practical learning tools aligned with DRAS functionality and regulatory business processes.
- Organize and manage training repositories ensuring materials are current and accessible.
Virtual Training Delivery
- Design and support formal virtual training sessions using web-based technologies such as Microsoft Teams.
- Develop:
- Course outlines
- Slide decks
- Exercises
- Training support materials
- Facilitate or support virtual sessions and participant engagement.
- Conduct post-training follow-up activities.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
- System Leads
- Business stakeholders
- Ensure training content accurately reflects operational requirements and user responsibilities.
- Build effective working relationships with leadership and end users.
Change Management & Communications
- Support change management initiatives by contributing to:
- Training strategies and plans
- Communication plans
- Stakeholder impact assessments
- Deliver presentations and communications at various organizational levels including management and end users.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze user feedback, observations, and training metrics to identify knowledge or performance gaps.
- Recommend and implement training improvements.
- Update training content based on:
- System enhancements
- User feedback
- Evolving business needs
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
Candidate must have either:
- A Bachelor’s Degree
OR
- A Diploma in Business, Communications, Adult Education, or related field plus 3 additional years of training-related experience
Required Experience (Minimum 5 Years Each)
- Creating user training materials, technical documentation, and support resources
- Delivering virtual training sessions using Microsoft Teams or similar technologies
- Managing multiple tasks and initiatives under strict timelines
Nice-to-Have Qualifications (Minimum 3 Years Each)
- Developing and delivering presentations to multiple organizational levels

Work Environment
- Primarily remote within Canada
