About the position Working under the supervision of and in close collaboration with the Head, Partnerships & Major Gifts in the Partnerships and Giving team (P&G), the Officer, Partnerships & Giving is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring stewardship plans for new and existing donors, partners, and sponsors to ensure meaningful relationship building and long term engagement.
This position leads the creation, writing, and design of donor impact reports and other stewardship communications and reports, ensuring timely, accurate, and compelling reporting, and manages the execution of brand, sponsor and partner recognition. The Officer also plays a key role in the research and proposal preparation for potential partners with the Head. Additionally, they will coordinate with the Individual Giving team for the annual report, donor wall and other donor stewardship reports, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and recognition standards for our donors and partners. This role is also responsible for planning stewardship and fundraising events, partner visits, special activities, and other related donor‑facing engagements for the P&G team.
As opportunities present themselves, the Officer may contribute to the growth and management of a small pipeline of partners giving under $25,000, strengthening competencies in cultivation, solicitation, and relationship management. The Officer acts as an ambassador for the Museum within the giving community, contributes to advancing the goals of the Partnerships & Giving team and performs related, additional duties as required.

Eligibility criteria This position is open to all Employees of the Canadian Museum of Nature and any members of the public who meet the qualifications below.
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Education and training Completion of a post‑secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in fundraising, museum studies, communications, public relations, marketing, business administration, or another related field and some relevant experience; or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
Language requirements
English and French are essential

Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience in partnership, donor or sponsorship stewardship, donor/client relations, fundraising support, and partnership administration.
In partner, sponsor or donor facing roles.
In creating written materials for partners, donors, sponsors or other funder audiences.
In coordinating logistics or managing multiple deadlines.
In using customer Relationship Management (CRM) or other donor or philanthropy software.
In data input and verification of data accuracy.
In conducting partnership, sponsorship, donor or philanthropic research to support decision making and funding pipelines.
Experience in museums, cultural institutions, or science centers is an asset.
Experience supporting philanthropic or partnership solicitation or proposal development is an asset.
Experience working with vendors and designers for donor materials such as cases for support is an asset.
Planning and coordinating philanthropic stewardship, cultivation, and recognition events is an asset.
