Job description

The Niagara Catholic District School Board invites applications for Secretarial Support (casual). Our casual Secretarial staff work on an on call, as needed basis, filling in for Secretarial or Administrative staff who are away or on a leave. This position requires a high level of computer literacy in various database programs.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:Perform various administrative office duties, under the general supervision of the school PrincipalPerform data entry and record maintenance dutiesAble to work in a busy environment independently as well as part of a teamPerform attendance administration duties to ensure the safe arrival of studentsFiling and maintaining confidential information for Principal, Vice-Principal and TeachersAct in a confidential and professional manner at all times in working relationships with all school personnel, students, parents and the publicOther duties as may be assignedWHAT YOU BRING:Grade 12 DiplomaExcellent secretarial skillsExcellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsFlexibility to accept assignments on short noticeThorough computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office including Word and ExcelExperience working with an accounting/bookkeeping system an assetMinimum 50 words per minute typing with accuracyMinimum 2 years of experience working in an office environment including financial accountingCompletion of a certificate/diploma in the area of Office or Business administration would be considered an assetLOCATIONS: Must be able to travel to all locations within the Niagara Catholic District School Board jurisdiction.HOURS: Varies: as needed on a casual on call basis. Must be available Monday to Friday for Elementary and Secondary School hoursPosting Status: On-Call Casual ListWe thank all candidates for applying; however, only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
