By effectively building positive rapport and relationships both internally and externally, the successful candidate will help us achieve our mission that together we deliver services that make a difference in our community.Reporting to and under the direction of the Supervisor, Capital Construction, the Construction Inspector II’s primary duties include, but are not limited to:* providing on-site construction inspections of Town projects, capital projects, subdivisions and site plans to ensure compliance with applicable by-laws, regulations and standards;* surveying for pre-engineering and construction lay-out;* inspection of subdivision and site plans for maintenance and assumption;* directing consultants, inspectors, contractors and dictating corrective action with respect to on-site problems;* preparing payment certificates and assisting with the preparation of contracts by collecting data and documentation for contract implementation; and,* assisting with other miscellaneous projects/assignments as required.# **Who You Are**Our Construction Engineering team is looking for an enthusiastic, solutions-oriented team player. You demonstrate adeptness in negotiation and approach situations with the goal to improve communication, diffuse tension and resolve problems.# **What You Bring To Our Team**As the successful applicant, you must possess:* a Civil Engineering Technician diploma from a recognized Community College;* a minimum of three (3) years of directly related civil engineering experience with emphasis on capital projects and subdivisions;* a certified member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT);* a working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); and* a valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence maintained in good standing with access to a personal vehicle.# **What We Offer You*** A comprehensive benefits and pension program to ensure that your total compensation package addresses both your work and life needs.**Salary Range/Hourly rate:**$40.76 - $50.93**Hybrid information:**Mobile Hybrid**Hours:**Current shift schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week.
