This is a foundational FP&A leadership role, ideal for someone who wants to build, own, and scale a function within an entrepreneurial, project-driven environment. This role offers the opportunity to create financial planning infrastructure, reporting frameworks, and analytical insights that directly influence business performance. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will act as a key business partner to operations, translating project-level data into meaningful financial insights that support strategic decision-making. Why This Role Stands Out Build and establish the FP&A function from the ground up High visibility with executive leadership Direct impact on project performance, margins, and financial strategy Opportunity to grow within a scaling organization Key Responsibilities FP&A Leadership and Strategy Build and lead the FP&A function, including processes, tools, and reporting cadence Partner with the CFO on strategic planning, capital allocation, and performance analysis Develop long-term financial models to support growth initiatives Budgeting and Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process across the organization Develop rolling forecasts incorporating project backlog, timelines, and cash flow Own consolidated forecasting across income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow Project and Operational Analytics Analyze project performance, including margins, costs, and risk factors Develop standardized frameworks for project tracking, backlog visibility, and profitability Partner with operations and project teams to drive financial accountability Reporting and Systems Design and implement management reporting packages and dashboards Enhance financial visibility through KPI tracking and analytics Support integration between operational systems and financial reporting Collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate and timely financial data Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field CPA designation (or in progress) preferred 6–8+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or project finance Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Nice to Have Experience in construction, infrastructure, or project-based industries Experience with ERP or financial systems such as project accounting or consolidation tools Compensation and Benefits Base salary of $110,000 – $120,000 Performance-based bonus Comprehensive health and dental coverage RRSP matching program Generous vacation and personal days Professional development support Employee wellness programs
