Deliverables - Provide environmental and project integration support across major nuclear initiatives, including refurbishment, safe storage, decommissioning, and sustaining projects.
- Lead environmental compliance oversight, including field inspections and monitoring of vendor performance across areas such as waste/soil management, groundwater, biodiversity, and aquatic protection.
- Manage regulatory approvals and stakeholder engagement, including liaison and negotiation with agencies such as Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
- Deliver technical guidance and documentation on environmental matters (e.g., Fisheries Act, in-water works, aquatic offsetting), while supporting Indigenous engagement and environmental risk mitigation strategies.
Experience Required
- 5–10+ years of experience in environmental management within nuclear, energy, or large infrastructure projects, with strong project integration exposure.
- Proven expertise applying the Fisheries Act, including in-water works, aquatic offsetting, and environmental permitting.
- Strong experience in environmental compliance oversight during construction, including vendor monitoring and field inspections.
- Experience managing regulatory approvals, permits, and stakeholder engagement across multiple agencies (e.g., MECP, MNR, DFO, CNSC, conservation authorities).
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field, with strong communication, stakeholder management, and multidisciplinary project coordination skills.
