Senior Security Analyst
to join our team of professionals in the Information Technology Division. Reporting to the Manager, IT Security, in this unionized position you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the security of corporate network infrastructure, applications, and on-premises and cloud-based IT environments. You will participate in the development of security architecture, standards, and governance, and provide recommendations for the remediation and mitigation of cyber security risks.
Responsibilities
Participate in the development and maintenance of enterprise-wide security architecture, standards, policies, and procedures
Participate in cyber security investigations and activities related to response protocols
Develop and implement annual cyber security awareness campaigns and provide cyber security awareness presentations, associated materials and online training
Conduct compliance assessments and security reviews to ensure enterprise security standards, controls, and best practices are in place and operating effectively
Administer and configure security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web content filtering, and other protective controls
Conduct vulnerability scanning, overview penetration testing, and develop and implement remediation and risk mitigation plans
Provide technical guidance, support, and training to staff on cybersecurity matters, and coordinate or oversee the work of others as required
Qualifications
Graduation from an institute of technology with a diploma in Computer Science or Information Systems and Network Security, plus considerable related experience, including network security management in a senior capacity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Thorough knowledge of cybersecurity practices, tools, and technologies, including endpoint protection, intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, email and web security, cloud security, and identity and access management
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure security capabilities, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, MFA, Conditional Access, privileged access controls, and role-based access control
Thorough knowledge of network security principles and technologies, including segmentation, TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, wireless security, DNS, and DHCP
Considerable knowledge of PKI, encryption, tokenization, vulnerability management, penetration testing, threat modeling, risk assessment, and incident management
Ability to establish and maintain effective communication with a variety of internal/external contacts and provide advice, information, and assistance as required
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to develop, present, and deliver training material to others
Security-related certifications such as SSCP, CompTIA Security+, AZ-500, CISSP, or CEH are considered assets
Required Certifications/Licenses
BC Class 5 (full privilege) Driver’s License. Applicants must include a valid Personal Driving Record (5‑year option if obtained online) that has been obtained within 6 months of the closing date. A copy of the Driver’s License and Driver Factor Report will not be accepted.
