What is the opportunity?Your natural flair for providing advice and resolving intricate business challenges is what sets you apart from the crowd. This role is all about professional relationship management and delivering top-tier financial advice to Public Sector entities (Municipalities, Universities and Colleges, School Boards, Hospitals, etc.), where a specialized approach aligns sales, products, risk policy, and market strategies to deliver solutions specific for this industry’s needs. In this role your highly-developed experience with financial analysis, cash management, investments, credit, and client acquisition takes centre stage. Your finely honed solution-development skills, combined with your innate business acumen, portfolio management expertise, and knack for client service, sets the stage for success.*The successful candidate must be mobile across multiple markets. Working territory will be discussed with hiring manager.What will you do?
  • Provide an exceptional client experience by delivering superior business and financial advice
  • Develop your needs-based sales strategy for all clients and prospects in order to grow revenue, deepen client relationships and achieve a high standard of client loyalty
  • Demonstrate portfolio management and risk mitigation through the review of financial statements identifying trends, monitoring risk, and assessing for credit restructuring
  • Leverage sales enabling tools, including sales planning, prospecting, and pre-call planning tools
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the internal subject matter specialists to develop and execute a client contact strategy
  • Leverage the expertise of RBC by identifying referral opportunities, making introductions together with appropriate referrals to RBC partners
What do you need to succeed?Must-have:
  • Minimum 3-5 years commercial banking experience
  • Proven track record in business development and exceptional client relationship management
  • Passion for providing quality advice and fulfilling client needs
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Credit skills including assessment of risk and financial analysis, credit structuring/solutions and presenting the deal
  • Specialized industry expertise in a past role (e.g., public sector)
  • Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e., web based meetings, social media, Digital Banking and Mobile Applications)
Nice-to-have:
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and self-motivation to achieve above average results
  • Experience with responding to Requests for Proposals and negotiating Banking Contracts.
  • University degree, ideally in commerce, business administration, or related experience
  • Continuous learner with a deep curiosity for understanding his/her diverse customers and is up-to-date with changes in client needs, procedures, and relevant products
  • Bilingual (French/English)
