Responsibilities
Develop, modify, and support modeling and simulation systems to meet operational requirements.
Create, maintain, and update user guides for custom and modified M&S systems.
Provide technical support for M&S tools, software, and simulation assets.
Develop, implement, and support M&S interoperability standards and system integration.
Install, configure, and integrate M&S and C2 software within cloud-based simulation environments.
Design, develop, and maintain gateways between core infrastructure and external M&S systems.
Develop, integrate, and maintain synthetic environments, terrain models, and entity behavior models.
Maintain master entity lists, master terrain lists, and data coherence across distributed simulations.
Support planning, testing, execution, and monitoring of distributed simulation and DSOC events.
Implement network filtering, cross-domain security rules, and pre-event technical validation.
Monitor system and network performance and contribute to technical debriefs and after-action reports.
Support system architecture design documentation, sustainment, and life‑cycle management.
Prepare time estimates, cost inputs, technical reports, specifications, and statements of work.
Provide subject‑matter expertise on emerging M&S technologies, trends, and obsolescence management.
General Qualifications
Be an active member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) or the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Certified under the Certified Modeling and Simulation Professional (CMSP) program.
Experience Requirements (Last 15 Years)
Experience performing system architecture development and implementation for M&S‑based systems, including development of network, compute, and data storage components.
Experience developing, installing, and troubleshooting gateway solutions to connect remote systems to a common network architecture.
Experience with integration and configuration of commercial and/or government off‑the‑shelf (COTS/GOTS) modelling and simulation toolsets such as: XCITE, AWSIM, NGTS, JSAF, MaK One World Suite, VBS, Presagis Simulation Suite, MetaVR, Plexsys ASCOT.
Experience in requirements analysis for Modelling and Simulation (M&S)-based solutions.
Experience in the integration and configuration of command and control (C2) software components such as Battle Control System - Fixed (BCS‑F) and NATO Integrated Command and Control (ICC) or an equivalent C2 system in a simulation system.
Experience in the integration and configuration of COTS/GOTS communications tools, including voice and data protocols and components.
Experience in the integration of distributed simulation components via standard protocols (DIS, HLA).
Experience providing technical support to a minimum of four Distributed Synthetic Operations events within the last three years.
Required Experience Within The Last 2 Years
Experience employing three or more of the following M&S tools and/or systems: XCITE, AWSIM, AFSIM, NGTS, JSAF, MaK One World Suite, VBS, Presagis Simulation Suite, Plexys ASCOT, MetaVR, MACE, Athena.
Experience configuring and supporting one or more of the following command and control systems: Battle Control System - Fixed (BCS‑F), NATO Integrated Command and Control (ICC) System.
Experience integrating and configuring one or more of the following distributed simulation data flow technologies: VR‑Exchange, Cross Domain Solutions, JBUS, DSTi RedSim Logger.
Experience integrating and configuring one or more of the following communications technologies: ASTi Voisus or Telestra, SimSpeak, OpenFire or XMPP Chat Clients and Servers, Link 16.
Experience employing two or more of the following core system technologies: VMware (vSphere 8.0+ ESXi, vCenter 8.0+, Horizon 8.0+), Docker, Kubernetes, Linux.
Experience employing two or more of the following core system technologies: Nvidia Licensing Server (on‑premise), Nvidia Grid vGPU Manager for ESXi, Certificate Authority Server, Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) RSA SecurID, Cisco AnyConnect Remote VPN, Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) 1150, Site‑to‑Site VPNs.
