Job description
Are You Our Next Plant Pro? Junior Horticulturist Every great landscape starts with strong fundamentals - and every great horticulturist starts somewhere. This could be your next step. At Oakridge Landscape Contractors, we’ve been building and maintaining landscapes across Southern Ontario for over 30 years. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Junior Horticulturist who’s eager to grow their skills, build plant knowledge, and develop under experienced leadership. What the role looks like:This is a hands-on, learning-focused role where you’ll support plant health and installation while developing your horticultural expertise in the field.
  • Learn the Craft: Assist with planting, pruning, and general plant care across job sites.
  • Plant Watch: Help monitor plant health and identify early signs of pests, disease, or stress.
  • Quality First: Support proper plant handling, installation, and transport.
  • Plan Ahead: Review and tag nursery stock for upcoming jobs.
  • Precision Care: Apply fertilizers and treatments in line with industry standards.
  • Team Support: Work closely with the Senior Horticultural Specialist and crews.
  • Hands-On Help: Step in on installs and maintenance when needed.

What we’re looking for:
  • 1-2 years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, or similar work.
  • Basic plant knowledge and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Landscape Exterminator (Spray) License – asset.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
