Job Overview Working closely with Senior Consultants, Associate Principals and Principals, you will be responsible for providing high quality, on‑time analytical input to client projects in the life sciences field. Assignments range from tactical quantitative analysis and problem solving to assisting in the development of complex strategic solutions. Consultants may serve as project managers for small teams or work streams.
Essential Functions
Assist with the review and analysis of client requirements or problems and assist in the development of proposals and client solutions.
Assist in the development of detailed documentation and specifications.
Performs substantial quantitative or qualitative analyses to assist in the identification of client issues and the development of advanced analytics advisory solutions.
Assist in the design/structure and completion of presentations that are appropriate to the characteristics or needs of the audience.
Develops, and may present, complete client deliverables within known/identified frameworks and methodologies.
Proactively develops a basic knowledge of consulting methodologies and the life sciences market through the delivery of consulting engagements and participation in formal and informal learning opportunities.
Engagement-based responsibilities are assigned and managed by Senior Consultants, Associate Principals or Principals.
Owns defined analyses and/or workstreams, ensuring analytical rigor, accuracy, and on‑time delivery.
Communicates findings clearly in both written and verbal formats; tailor storyline and materials to the audience.
Interacts directly with client stakeholders (e.g., calls, working sessions) to clarify requirements, test assumptions, and explain methods under senior guidance.
Works hands‑on with IQVIA and/or client datasets: preparation, manipulation, validation, visualization and interpretation (Excel, Power BI and/or statistical/programming tools).
Operates effectively in ambiguity by asking the right questions, proposing options, documenting assumptions, and managing multiple priorities.
Contributes to internal initiatives (e.g., knowledge assets, tools, best practices, team activities) as appropriate for level.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required.
3–5 years of related experience required.
PowerBI, R, Python or experience with other analytics tools preferred.
MS Suite experience (Excel, PowerPoint) required, advanced proficiency preferred.
Works willingly and effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals.
Strong communication skills (synthesis, storytelling, translating analyses for non‑technical audiences) and comfort presenting/discussing with clients.
Comfort working with imperfect/incomplete data; strong attention to detail and documentation of assumptions.
Knowledge and understanding of the fundamental processes of business, their interaction, and the impact of external/internal influences on decision making, growth and decline.
Knowledge of consulting methods, tools, and techniques, related to one’s functional area.
Effective time management skills required.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in ambiguity.
Exposure to or interest in the Canadian healthcare system (market access, reimbursement, public/private dynamics) is an asset.
What success looks like in Year 1 (examples)
Delivery / Quality: produce accurate, reproducible, well‑documented analyses; polished outputs (Excel/PowerPoint/Power BI) requiring minimal rework.
Analytical rigor: demonstrate structured problem‑solving (clear assumptions, data validation, QA checks, careful interpretation).
Growing ownership: own defined analysis modules/workstreams; manage tasks and timelines reliably; flag risks early.
Communication & collaboration: contribute effectively in internal (and gradually client) discussions; explain approaches and findings clearly; incorporate feedback quickly.
Prioritization: succeed across 2+ concurrent engagements while maintaining quality and deadlines; remain effective as requirements evolve.
Business context: build practical understanding of Canadian life sciences topics relevant to projects (commercial strategy, market access, reimbursement, etc.).
Internal contribution: contribute to at least one internal initiative (reusable asset, model/tool improvement, knowledge share, proposal support, etc.).
Base salary range: $97,500 – $147,500 annually.
