Job description
Join Gay Lea Foods as a Plant Controller in Calgary, overseeing plant financials and leading the accounting team. Your expertise will drive profit and operational efficiencies.

As a full-time Plant Controller, you will report directly to the Vice President of Finance and Business Performance. With your minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience, you will handle the preparation of financial statements, manage budgets, and lead an accounting team. Your analysis of variances and operational costs will play a critical role in improving plant profitability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities: • Lead and develop the accounting team for optimal performance • Prepare monthly financial statements and variance reports • Liaise with production management to optimize plant efficiencies • Conduct scenario analyses to assess decision impacts • Assist in budget preparation for corporate consolidated operations

Requirements: • Professional accounting designation preferred • Minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience • Strong knowledge of operational accounting and variance analysis • Experience with MS D365 ERP systems • Excellent analytical and communication skills
