As a Data Analyst, you will join Canada Life’s Canada Operations & Business Enablement, Data Analytics and Reporting team. In this role you will support all Canada Operations and Business Enablement teams with the development, implementation, and maintenance of analytics solutions ranging from descriptive and diagnostic to predictive.
The Analyst, Data & Analytics supports decision making, monitors business performance, and provides actionable insights using analytics and statistical techniques.
In this role, you will assist in modelling, analysing, and predicting business processes. You will translate business requirements into data, reporting, and analytics projects, which you will support throughout their entire lifecycle.
What you will do:
Translate business needs into data requirements, collect, integrate, clean, explore, model, and analyze large datasets and visualize results and present to business leaders
Build, implement and maintain data models, custom reports, and dashboards
Work with large datasets that are not consistent, clean, or fully modelled
Communicate effectively and demonstrate critical thinking and business acumen.
Define, implement, and monitor metrics and KPIs and ensure ongoing strategic alignment with short and long-term business objectives
Enable effective, efficient working relationships with business partners
Work closely with senior leaders to understand business drivers and enable them to make decisions based on data
Support projects throughout the entire analytics lifecycle
Present and communicate insights and recommendations in a visual and simplified manner
What you will bring:
1-3 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Microsoft Access & Excel – Intermediate to Advance level is preferred
Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) certification is preferred
Demonstrated experience in working with data analytics tools (SQL, Python), Databases (SQL Server), Cloud (Azure, Databricks), data visualisation tools (Power BI) with experience at creating interactive dashboards
Ability to write efficient SQL and Python queries to extract, integrate, and transform data from multiple sources, and to automate data pipelines
Proficiency in Power BI, Data Modelling, Power Query, and DAX
Knowledge of Canada Life advisor contracting structure is an asset
Attention to details, and ability to identify data discrepancy over different periods
Experience working with raw data and manipulating large datasets
Good knowledge in data analytics and statistical modelling
Strong communication and presentation skills
Proven ability to learn quickly and independently and handle multiple priorities in a challenging work environment
Experience within the Financial Services sector would be an asset
Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.
The base salary for this position is between
$59,800 - $109,700
annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
