Student Recruitment & Admissions at Simon Fraser University is often the front door for newly admitted students as they embark upon their academic journey. The Student Recruitment unit is dedicated to an inclusive and accessible approach to assisting prospective students in finding the best fit program for their post-secondary journey. We seek to be student-centred in our policies and procedures to meet a diverse applicant community and are proactive and responsive in our effort to support enrolment management at the institutional level.

About the Role

The Manager, Student Recruitment (National) is a key member of the Student Recruitment and Admissions team and provides both strategic and operational leadership for domestic undergraduate recruitment. The role leads a team of Recruitment Coordinators and Co-operative Education student staff and oversees the delivery of programs, services, and outreach that attract, engage, and support prospective students across Canada and the United States. The role provides leadership in training and capacity building across recruitment staff and faculty-based advisors, advancing a coordinated, consistent, and high-quality approach to undergraduate recruitment.

An ideal candidate is a strategic, student-centered leader with strong domestic recruitment experience and a deep understanding of the Canadian post-secondary landscape. They excel at relationship-building, data-informed decision-making, and leading high-performing teams. Key competencies include communication, adaptability, equity-minded practice, and project management. They can translate institutional priorities into actionable recruitment strategies, leverage partnerships across regions, and inspire teams to deliver results. Above all, they demonstrate integrity, resilience, and a commitment to expanding access and supporting diverse student populations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant field and six years of related management experience, which includes direct experience in student recruitment, admissions or enrolment management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Data literacy and CRM proficiency.
