We are seeking a Commercial Vehicle Ambassador who plays a key role in creating a welcoming, safe, and well‑organized curbside environment for our customers, clients, and commercial transportation partners. This role is responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient flow of groundside traffic at the terminal level by providing exceptional customer service and proactive curbside management. This role supports taxis, rideshare services, shuttle operators, and other commercial and fleet vehicles entering designated terminal pickup areas.
This position requires a strong customer‑focused mindset, clear communication skills, and the ability to manage curbside activity in a fast‑paced airport environment. The Commercial Vehicle Ambassador is a visible presence on the Commercial Curb during all flight arrival periods, helping ensure a positive experience for passengers, transportation partners, and airport stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner and assist if asked.
- Act as traffic controller to direct incoming commercial vehicles to available parking spaces for safe and efficient pick-ups.
- Monitor the commercial curb for unauthorized vehicles, commercial or private
- Operate a technology-equipped vehicle to inventory parking space availability, capture license plate data, and monitor parking facilities and groundside roadways for compliance and operational efficiency.
- Uses hardware and software to assess authorization, track and record authorized commercial
- Perform daily audits of commercial vehicles as requested to compliance with WAA rules and regulations.
- Inspect authorized commercial vehicles for compliance with the Airport Authority’s standards and expectations.
- Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
- Provide assistance to guests who require help.
- Use respectful communication with the Guest Transportation Liaison to assist operators and guests with their questions, problems, and concerns, and relay information to Operations Manager if required.
- Immediately report any accidents, incidents or safety concerns to Operations Manager or Shift Leads and Airports Operations Team.
- Respond to AOC dispatch requests to service parking equipment, including clearing jams, replenishing ticket stock, basic troubleshooting, reporting malfunctions, and performing user testing.
- Always communicate professionally with guests, clients, operators and teammates.
- Keeping the public vehicles away and out of the commercial operator’s area(s).
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous commercial driving experience, preferred
- Knowledge of or ability to learn airport ground transportation rules and layouts.
- Ability to remain calm and helpful in a fast-paced, high‑traffic environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to verbally communicate with guests
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
REQUIREMENTS: - At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with good driving records.
- Operate commercial vehicles requiring normal coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot
- Must be flexible to work days, nights Monday-Sunday, Holidays and special events.
- Must successfully pass a background check, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
- Must be authorized to work in the Canada and able to provide documentation verifying eligibility, as required by law
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Enter and exit vehicle frequently throughout shift as well as sitting for extending periods of time
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Able to Lift up to 25lb
WORKING CONDITIONS: - Exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, wind, and snow depending on the region and season.
- Fast‑paced environment requiring consistent customer interaction.
- Exposure to vehicle traffic, noise, and varying weather conditions.
- Interaction with upset or frustrated customers while maintaining professionalism.
- This position involves outdoor work. Employees will be provided with appropriate company issued apparel; however, individuals should be prepared to work in varying weather conditions.
