Continuous Delivery and Operations Specialist

The Continuous Delivery and Operations Specialist plays an essential role in managing our constantly evolving production, testing, and development environments. You will be responsible for guaranteeing the availability, performance, and security of over a hundred non-production, production, and backup installations. As a key member of the team, you will execute and improve deployments, ensure proactive monitoring, and continuously enhance our processes to optimize our operations.

Main responsibilities

Deployments and Updates :

• Execute, optimize, and maintain CD pipelines to deploy scalable versions of our applications across environments leading to production.
• Ensure environment configuration management using Git, automation pipelines, and configuration management tools.

Monitoring and Alerts :

• Participate in the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive monitoring system to detect issues and performance problems.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to improve monitoring tools and processes.
• Improve, configure, and manage alerts (Alerts as Code) in Git, as well as "runbooks".
• Contribute to dashboards.

Automation and Continuous Improvement :

• Develop, improve, and automate runbooks for daily operational tasks.
• Identify and implement improvements to optimize environment performance, reliability, availability, and security.
• Automate repetitive tasks to increase team efficiency.

Support and Troubleshooting :

• Available for 24/7 support (on-call rotation with premium pay).
• Provide first-level support for production and non-production incidents (daytime rotation).
• Diagnose and resolve problems related to deployments, performance, and environment availability.
• Document incidents, perform root cause analysis, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Availability for 24/7 support on rotation with premium pay (approximately 1 week out of 6-8).
• Variable work schedule, including evenings and weekends (approximately 1 week out of 6-8).

Collaboration and Communication :

• Work closely with development, infrastructure, and product teams to ensure smooth application delivery.
• Communicate effectively with different teams to coordinate deployments, updates, and emergency interventions.

*The working language is French. A perfect command of French (oral and written) is mandatory.

Academic background and experience

• DEC or AEC in computer science or a related field.
• Significant experience in a similar role (Continuous Deployment, DevOps, SysAdmin).

Technical and professional skills

Essential Technical Skills :

• Knowledge of Linux and Git.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl, etc.).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
• Knowledge of monitoring and alerting systems (Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of SQL databases.

Assets :

• Production support.
• Experience with containers (Docker, …).
• Knowledge of cloud architectures (AWS, …).
• Experience with proxy tools (HAProxy, nginx, …).
• Familiarity with API Gateways (Kong).
• Experience in test automation.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.).
• Use of AI to help diagnose incidents or problems.
