We are currently seeking an experienced engineer or technologist with 8+ years experience in buildings engineering (mechanical or fire suppression) to lead and grow a team of engineering professionals. Company Description

While we operate primarily in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, our projects span Western Canada. Our valued clients include developers, business owners, universities, property managers, government agencies, and industrial companies. Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in project management and a highly developed skillset in either mechanical engineering or fire suppression engineering. Experience in both technical areas will be considered a strong advantage. P.Eng./P.L.Eng. designations and experience reviewing and stamping design drawings are considered strong assets; however, qualified applicants without these designations are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
Act as the main point of contact between clients and SEL and represent SEL to design and construction teams Meet and communicate with clients as required throughout all phases of a project Develop proposals for engineering services, including multi-discipline projects Attend site reviews as required to ensure scope, quality, and schedule of work follow standards Identify potential risks (to client & SEL) and provide effective approaches to solve complex problems Develop contacts within existing SEL clients, and expand the SEL client base Manage the delivery of projects within the applicable scope to ensure they are both on time and on budget Manage project financials utilizing company tools and policies, including forecasting, billing, resource allocation and change management; effectively and proactively communicate any budget concerns to Principals Communicate project metrics (resourcing, deadlines, forecasting) to SEL team to support business planning and development Manage project communications, both internally at SEL and externally to the project team Provide direction and oversight to engineers and technical staff in the development, configuration, and quality control of design drawings for fire suppression building systems. Required Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills: an individual who respects the diversity of opinions and communicates clearly Communication skills: credible, attentive, reliable, responsive, and empathetic Ability to understand client expectations and meet or exceed them Organizational and time management skills to assess, plan and deliver on multiple tasks and deadlines Highly skilled in the use of planning and fundamental design tools, such as Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Outlook, Planner Knowledgeable in the application of design tools in use by project team, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HAP Ability to read and interpret designs from all disciplines Education
University degree in Mechanical Engineering or graduation from a technical university with a focus on mechanical engineering systems design; and Minimum 5+ years of experience in either Mechanical Engineering with a focus on building systems design or Fire Suppression system design; Benefits
