What You’ll Do Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure Assets, you\'ll provide engineering co-ordination, technical expertise and advisory services across municipal infrastructure systems. You will help guide how critical infrastructure is planned, prioritized and managed, playing a key role in long-term decision-making.
Provide co-ordinated engineering advisory, regulatory and compliance support for roads, bridges, culverts, water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure, ensuring alignment with legislation, municipal standards and best practices.
Lead long-range infrastructure asset management planning, capital prioritization, risk management and governance, including preparation of capital budgets and business plans across all engineering asset classes.
Prepare project scopes, initiate and review Requests for Proposals, support procurement processes and ensure capital project assumptions and design criteria align with asset management strategies and standards.
Co-ordinate and conduct technical reviews of engineering submissions, studies and designs; retain and oversee consultants to ensure technical quality, regulatory compliance and adherence to municipal standards.
Liaise with internal divisions, including planning and development services, and external agencies on development proposals, servicing requirements, site plans, surplus lands and related engineering approvals.
Develop, update and implement engineering policies, standards, processes and bylaws; monitor emerging engineering practices, technologies and regulatory changes.
Provide engineering input on legal, risk management, insurance and claims matters, including participation in reviews, court proceedings and coordination with Legal Services and insurers.
Support grant identification, funding applications and reporting; prepare reports and present to Council, Committees and working groups while maintaining effective relationships with regulators, utilities and external authorities.
What You’ll Bring
A university degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Membership or eligibility for membership with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
A minimum of four years of directly related engineering experience, including at least three years working with corporate functions such as public works, administrative, technical, financial, information systems, legal and human resources.
Experience in roads, water and wastewater systems, including design, construction and regulatory frameworks.
Familiarity with transportation design, pavement management and water/wastewater systems.
Knowledge of stormwater management practices.
Valid Class G driver’s licence with a satisfactory driving record.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification considered an asset.
Salary And Additional Benefits The salary range for this position is $117,366.48 to $138,066.39 per year (subject to review).
