Tech Lead, Senior Infrastructure Network Specialist This position is onsite.
Are you passionate about building and operating large-scale, highly resilient enterprise networks? Reporting to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure, this role is accountable for the end-to-end architecture, delivery, and operational excellence of LCBO’s enterprise network across data centers, offices, warehouses, and retail locations, while enabling secure hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity (Azure, AWS, GCP).

About The Role Technical Leadership & Team Development
Provide hands‑on technical leadership and mentorship to internal teams and external partners
Lead, coach, and develop team members, aligning performance and growth with organizational priorities
Establish KPIs, SLAs, and operational expectations for team members and vendors
Manage resource allocation across operations, support, and project delivery
Network Architecture & Engineering
Own and evolve the enterprise network architecture across: Data centers (core/distribution/access), Physical premises (retail stores, warehouses, and corporate offices) and LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, Wi‑Fi, VoIP, and SAN fabrics
Lead design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available on‑prem network solutions
Maintain and enhance technologies including; switching, routing, firewalls, load balancers, WAF, Cisco ACI, Cisco UCS, SAN (iSCSI, FCoE, NVMe‑oF)
Extend architecture into hybrid environments with: Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect, Google Cloud Interconnect
Standardize protocols and architectures (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRF, MPLS, QoS)
Drive modernization including SD‑WAN and Zero Trust principles
Infrastructure Operations & Service Excellence
Oversee day‑to‑day operations across all on‑prem network environments: Datacenters, stores, warehouses, and offices
Manage and support: Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD, Fortinet), Load balancers (F5 LTM/ASM), Wireless platforms (Cisco, Fortinet), VPN, Web Access Gateways, and VoIP infrastructure
Ensure high availability and performance across 500+ locations and 10,000+ endpoints
Lead incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis
Utilize and enhance monitoring and alerting tools (SolarWinds, NetScout)
Ensure compliance with ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Configuration Management)
Cloud & Hybrid Network Integration (Supporting Capability)
Design and manage secure connectivity between on‑prem environments and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Implement and support VNet / VPC architectures and peering, private endpoints, and hybrid routing
Ensure consistent IP addressing (IPAM), DNS, and routing policies across environments
Collaborate with Cloud and DevOps teams to support automated provisioning and IaC
Support cloud‑native networking while ensuring alignment with core on‑prem architecture standards
Security, Risk & Compliance
Ensure all network environments (on‑prem and cloud) meet PCI and enterprise security standards
Maintain and manage: Firewall rules, WAF policies, and web gateway controls
Lead patching, hardening, and vulnerability remediation practices
Address audit findings and ensure continuous compliance alignment
Disaster Recovery & Resilience
Define and implement disaster recovery strategies for network infrastructure
Ensure alignment with Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and DR plans
Maintain resiliency across datacenters and hybrid environments with defined RTO/RPO targets
Project Delivery & Execution
Lead delivery of network initiatives across on‑prem and hybrid environments
Ensure solutions are properly designed, documented, and operationally sustainable
Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope
Strategy, Planning & Financial Management
Support development of the network roadmap across on‑prem and hybrid cloud environments
Lead capacity planning, lifecycle management, and technology refresh initiatives
Develop business cases and support procurement (RFPs, RFQs, vendor evaluations)
Manage vendor relationships to ensure cost efficiency and service quality
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
5+ years managing large-scale on‑prem enterprise networks (500+ sites, 10,000+ endpoints)
Strong expertise in: Routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRF), LAN/WAN, SD‑WAN, Wi‑Fi, VoIP, Firewalls, WAF, and network security, Data center networking (ACI, UCS, SAN technologies)
Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet and F5
Experience integrating with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP) in a hybrid model
Knowledge of network automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, JSON, YAML)
Proven experience leading teams and managing vendors
Preferred Certifications include CCNP / CCIE / CCDE, ITIL Foundation, Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP), CWNA or equivalent
Experience in secret and certificate management tool and best practice through automation
