Job description
Become a pivotal creative force at Industrial Light & Magic in Vancouver as a Senior Effects Technical Director. This hybrid role demands expertise in Houdini for dynamic simulations and procedural setups.

As a Senior Effects Technical Director, you'll independently generate diverse FX elements that elevate feature animation and visual effects. With at least 5 years of VFX experience, you'll mentor junior artists while managing complex shot lighting, rendering, and compositing. Your aesthetic insights will contribute significantly to the project’s visual storytelling and style.

Key Responsibilities: • Design FX animation and procedural simulations • Light and render complex elements efficiently • Provide accurate time estimates for shot progress • Mentor junior artists and manage shot data • Develop innovative stylized FX setups

Requirements: • 5+ years of professional VFX experience • Expert level proficiency in Houdini • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Good knowledge of physics and natural phenomena • Basic experience with Nuke and Python scripting
