Job descriptionJob Summary The Associate Principal is responsible for managing their respective Project Design Team. They are fully responsible and accountable for their design team staff, regularly review staffing and distribute tasks effectively and consistently with staff skillsets. By providing technical support and management resources, the Associate ensures that design decision‑making and team management accountability take place. The Vancouver Mechanical Science & Technology team is looking for a keen individual to continue the growth and lead the execution of some of the recently awarded projects. The institutional projects range in scale and complexity, from smaller Functional Programming and Business Case scopes to major renovations and additions.
Responsibilities
Leads a team, ensuring members receive adequate training, support and development opportunities
Accountable for ensuring appropriate utilization, workload planning and forecasting
Implements programs to improve the quality of service, products, and systems to meet clients' requirements, minimize costs, and maximize the firm’s competitive position
Promotes quality issues with all team members and ensures that the quality control function is effectively performed and embedded as a standard in the team
Assures adequate field review services are provided to ensure adherence of contract documents
Acts as the firm representative and maintains good relationships with clients, project stakeholders, associations, government bodies and other entities
Is an active role model for team and office culture and promotes an inclusive workplace
Builds and manages their own key clients and monitors key pursuits/opportunities
Contributes to GO/NO‑GO decisions with the mindset of growing the business
Monitors and assists with keeping team performance at or above the annual plan
Is a discipline lead on projects with minimal peer/technical support required
Qualifications
10+ years design experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Control systems
Experience leading and designing Science & Technology projects
Has led a team or mentored junior/intermediate staff members
Experience responding to RFPs and writing Business Cases
University degree, college/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineer (PEng)
LEED Accredited professional designation or other relevant rating or performance system is desired
Compensation & Benefits Introba is committed to pay equity. Base compensation range of $140,800-176,000 annually for this position.
