Job description
Senior English and Humanities Teacher Continuing Part‑Time (0.857 FTE)

– Effective September 1, 2026 at GidGalang Kuuyas Naay Secondary School.

Requirements

A university teaching major, or its equivalent, directly related to the teaching position;

Understanding and being committed to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;

The focus of this role will be to collaborate with classroom teachers to co‑plan, co‑teach and co‑assess for personalized student learning;

Be prepared to provide support in creating inclusive learning environments where students are connected, supported, engaged and challenged;

High level of skills related to successful classroom management, and to the development and maintenance of a positive classroom climate;

Experience with multi‑grade classes an asset;

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students' strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs;

Assume responsibility for the development and execution of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans;

Knowledge of school‑based teams;

Proven interpersonal skills, work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, education assistants, parents and administrators;

Understanding of local resources and environment;

Teacher Regulation Branch certification.

Benefits

Competitive Salary: $64,631 - $103,030 per annum

Remote and Rural Allowance: $3,000 per annum

Travel Allowance: $1,034 per annum

Up to $2,000 relocation allowance upon submission of receipts
