Job Description

Summary :

Operate, set up and maintain packaging equipment while packaging semi-finished bulk into finished product form. This includes : documentation requirements, cleaning, training, mechanical support, leading projects, support department initiatives while supporting the needs of the Operations group in the area of material coordination, compliance, security and safety.

Friday through Sunday

6 : 00 am to 6 : 00 pm (if 36hrs are worked you get 4 hrs added)

Essential Functions :

Oversee all functions related to the Packaging Lines, including operating and training instructions to new and temporary staff. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Operate equipment, verifycomponentusage. Inspectfinishedproduct. Perform all associated Packaging tasks asrequired. Complete required documentation while meeting compliance requirements.

Support department initiatives including equipment set-up,teardownand minor troubleshooting. Assembly and disassembly of equipment during and after production runs.

Complete necessary inspections and reconcile material usage including transporting approved materials to and from the Production line.

Accurately complete batch documents and audit documentation process including batch entries, checks,labourreporting, and downtime. Ensure control and handling of labels tomeet cGood Manufacturing Practiceguidelines. Receive andstorage oflabels including all related tracking functions.

Provide support in monitoring performance measures and notify management of potential quality or regulatory issues that may affect product quality or regulatory issues.

Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.

Perform alternating or rotating shift work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

High school diploma or GED required

Experience :

2 years of experience in set-up and tear-down of packaging equipment preferred.

Equivalency

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge,

Skills

and Abilities :

Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Mechanical proficiency.

Strong Mathematical skills.

Ability to work at line speed and with minimal supervision.

Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPu2019s) a definite asset. Previous WHMIS training an asset.

Previous fork lift training an asset. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.

Proficiency with the English Language.

Physical Requirements :

Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing / office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, loud noise, bright lights, fumes or odour.u202fUse of Personal Protective equipment is required and may include any of the following : safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator.

Compensation

The estimated annualized pay range for this position in Ontario is $45,300.00u2013$67,950.00.
