Your role

Reporting directly to the Regional Director, Radio-Canada Ontario is seeking applications for the position of Special Projects Producer to drive content innovation across the province. In this role, you act as the creative and strategic hub for the Toronto, Sudbury, and Windsor stations, while collaborating on an as-needed basis with the Ottawa team to ensure province-wide synergy. Your primary mandate is to oversee and coordinate large-scale special projects across all platforms, including podcasts, audiobooks, long-form digital content, as well as the production of special programs and broadcasts outside the studio.

Curious, creative, and forward-looking, you work closely with the Community Experiences and Parterships team to explore content production projects that foster direct engagement with our audiences. Drawing on your strong command of Journalistic Standards and Practices and your in-depth understanding of Ontario’s diverse communities, you ensure the editorial quality of ambitious projects aligned with current consumption habits. You demonstrate boldness in proposing meaningful enhancements for digital platforms, while exercising strong, mobilizing leadership.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and develop original concepts for special projects (podcasts, audiobooks, digital series) and define production objectives.

  • Establish the editorial vision (angle, format) for audio and digital content.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams from different stations.

  • Prepare coverage plans and orchestrate deployments for special broadcasts or off-site productions.

  • Collaborate with the Community Experiences team to integrate audience engagement and proximity strategies into projects.

  • Review content and provide constructive feedback to ensure high production quality.

  • Assess performance and technical feasibility at every stage of production, from ideation to final delivery.

This role requires full-time on-site presence.

Profile sought:

  • University degree or equivalent

  • Five (5) years of experience, including three (3) in a related field directly tied to the role

  • In-depth knowledge of radio, digital, and television environments

  • Excellent command of digital writing standards and conventions, with strong journalistic writing and editing skills

  • Relevant experience in content production

  • Knowledge of Radio-Canada’s mandate and Journalistic Standards and Practices

  • Strong understanding of Ontario-related issues

  • Commitment to reflecting community and diversity

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines

  • Proven leadership and strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Resourcefulness and initiative

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure

  • Excellent editorial judgment

  • Fluency in spoken and written French

  • Very good knowledge of English

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.

We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
