Job descriptionRetail Investment Research Specialist (Individual Investor Focus) [$105-$200/hr] Retail Investment Research Specialists and self-directed market participants who actively engage with equities, form investment views, and seek to sharpen their decision-making edge to train and evaluate AI systems that aim to replicate and enhance how real-world investors think, research, and act.
Role Responsibilities
Research stocks, sectors, and market trends using publicly available and professional tools (e.g., screeners, filings, TradingView, financial news)
Form and articulate investment theses, including entry/exit reasoning, catalysts, and risks
Analyse price movements and market events, distinguishing between noise and meaningful signals
Evaluate AI-generated insights, summaries, and recommendations for clarity, usefulness, and accuracy
Provide feedback on whether outputs improve decision confidence or create confusion
Simulate real-world investor workflows, including idea discovery, validation, and portfolio monitoring
Identify gaps in reasoning, missing context, or misleading interpretations in AI outputs
Qualifications
Active participation in public markets (equities, ETFs, or similar instruments)
Demonstrated habit of researching and tracking investments independently
Ability to explain why a stock is moving or whether a move matters
Strong intuition for market sentiment, narratives, and behavioral patterns
Comfort using platforms such as Reddit, X (Twitter), Google Finance, Yahoo Finance, TradingView, or similar
Clear written communication skills and ability to express investment reasoning
Individuals who have developed their own approach to investing whether structured or evolving
Investors who seek deeper insight and faster understanding, rather than surface-level summaries
Strong curiosity about markets and a desire to continuously improve decision-making
Ability to balance conviction with openness to new information
Nice to Have
Experience using advanced tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or similar)
Familiarity with technical analysis, financial statements, or macroeconomic indicators
Prior experience documenting trades, theses, or investment outcomes
