Job descriptionThe Manager, HR Business Partner plays a key role in delivering Maple Leaf Foods' People Strategy by partnering with assigned client groups within our head office located in Mississauga to strengthen leadership capability, drive employee engagement, and support organizational performance. This role combines strategic partnership with operational excellence, providing trusted guidance to leaders while ensuring consistent, high‑quality execution of HR programs and processes in a fast‑paced environment. Strategic Business Partnership: Provide day‑to‑day guidance on people practices, advise leaders on team dynamics, performance, and engagement strategies; use business acumen and data insights to influence decisions, anticipate talent risks, and shape workforce and capability strategies; apply organizational design principles to support structure, role clarity, and team effectiveness.
Talent and Leadership Development: Support delivery of the talent and succession planning process within client groups; coach leaders on performance management, feedback, and career development; facilitate talent calibration sessions and ensure follow‑up development actions are implemented.
Workforce Analytics and Data‑Driven Insights: Maintain data accuracy in HR systems, leverage analytics to provide insights into key HR metrics and trends, translate data into actionable insights that inform decisions related to turnover, engagement, performance, and productivity; use predictive indicators and scenario planning to guide leaders on future workforce needs.
Employee Engagement and Culture: Act as a culture ambassador, reinforcing company values through communication, recognition, and engagement; diagnose engagement drivers and partner with leaders to implement targeted action plans that strengthen belonging, inclusion and team effectiveness; support leaders in building psychologically safe, high‑performing teams.

Proven and recurring success as a trusted HR Business Partner at the Manager level.
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people strategies to operational, financial, and customer outcomes.
Ability to build trusted, influential relationships with leaders at all levels, providing guidance that balances empathy, judgment, and organizational priorities.
Skilled in coaching leaders on performance, feedback, conflict resolution, and team effectiveness.
Demonstrated experience in diagnosing engagement and culture drivers and partnering with leaders to build inclusive, high‑performing teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity, influence decisions, and support leaders through ambiguity.
