Job description
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) is the operator of Toronto Pearson. Toronto Pearson is Canada’s busiest airport, and one of the largest international passenger airports in North America. It is a hub for the movement of people and goods across the country, continent and around the globe. For the 3rd year running, the GTAA is among Canada’s Best Employers in Forbes’ annual ranking and the only airport to appear on the list. The focus of the GTAA is to transform the passenger experience with ambitious plans to continue to expand and improve its buildings and facilities. Recently the GTAA launched Pearson LIFT, a capital plan spanning more than a decade, representing significant investment into Toronto Pearson’s facilities through several construction programs aimed at preparing Canada’s largest airport for the challenges and opportunities of the coming years and beyond. The GTAA is seeking a Corporate Law Clerk to join their legal team and assist with the continued growth of the organization. With the assistance of a contract precedent platform, this role will manage a variety of contracts, reviewing and amending agreements such as non-disclosure agreements and expense contracts. In addition to contract management, this individual will also communicate with both external and internal teams, especially the procurement team, to provide information as required. They will also regularly review and update internal policies and procedures for the GTAA, as well as manage timelines to ensure deadlines are met. As needed, this role will assist the legal team on large transactions by coordinating logistics and liaising with external legal counsel, as well as internal teams at the GTAA to ensure the process remains organized. This position directly reports to a Director, Legal Counsel and is based out of the GTAA offices near Toronto Pearson. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, being required in office 3 times per week minimum. The target total compensation for this role, including base salary and target bonus, is $100,000 – $150,000 annually. This current vacancy is a new role within the legal team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a Law Clerk role at a law firm or in the in‑house legal department of a reputable organization. Experience drafting, amending and managing commercial contracts is required. You should be highly organized, confident and possess strong judgement, as well as be detail oriented. Being a team player and having the ability to collaborate and maintain open communication with your team is essential for success in this role. Any experience with Thomspon Reuters’ Contract Express; Brightflag; Microsoft’s Power Automate and/or exposure to managing corporate minute books will be considered a plus, as is being ILCO certified.
