Job description
Lead Alto's real property acquisitions for Canada's first high-speed rail project, impacting communities from Quebec City to Toronto. This pivotal role can be based in Toronto or Ottawa.

As the Director of Real Property Acquisitions, you will report to the Senior Director, Land Acquisitions and Development. Your leadership is crucial in executing Alto’s land acquisition program, ensuring alignment across project phases with respect to budget, schedule, and risk. Responsibilities include oversight of property activities and collaboration with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Construction, and Legal to integrate land strategies and stakeholder commitments effectively.

Key Responsibilities: • Lead Alto’s Land Acquisition Program across Ontario • Plan and implement land acquisition strategies and transactions • Develop early acquisition strategies to support risk mitigation • Manage key relationships with municipalities and developers • Engage diplomatically with landowners to secure transactions

Requirements: • Minimum 10 years in real estate acquisitions or land development • Expertise in negotiations and regulatory approvals • Familiarity with major infrastructure delivery and Transit-Oriented Development • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills • Willingness to travel across Ontario and Québec
