Salary : £48,987–£54,430 Location : Halifax or Leeds Workstyle : Hybrid (at least two days a week / on average 40% on site)## Role OverviewWe are recruiting a Public Cloud Assistant Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, build and operation of cloud‐based infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure .You will work within agile engineering teams, contributing to secure, scalable platforms that support services used across Lloyds Banking Group.This role is suited to early‐career cloud, DevOps or infrastructure engineers who want to deepen their experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and CI / CD in a large‐scale enterprise environment.## Key Responsibilities* Support the design, deployment and maintenance of cloud infrastructure on GCP and Azure* Assist in operating Kubernetes‐based platforms Build, maintain and support CI / CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployment* Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform* Support implementation of security controls , access management and policy standards* Monitor platform health and assist with incident resolution and troubleshooting* Take part in agile ceremonies, continuous improvement activities and platform enhancements* Participate in an on‐call support rota with appropriate training and support## Required Skills and Experience* 1–4 years’ experience in a DevOps, SRE, cloud or infrastructure engineering role* Hands‐on experience or strong working knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies* Experience using CI / CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or similar)* Ability to write or maintain scripts using Python, Bash or Go Experience or exposure to Infrastructure as Code , preferably Terraform Understanding of cloud computing concepts and services on GCP and / or Azure Basic understanding of Linux systems , networking and security principles* Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies## Desirable (Not Essential) Skills* Experience with Istio service mesh , including ingress / egress, mTLS and telemetry* Familiarity with GitOps approaches (e.g. Anthos Config Management, Backstage workflows)* Experience with Harness or similar enterprise CI / CD tools* Exposure to OPA Gatekeeper or policy‐as‐code tooling* Awareness of container security tools such as Aqua Security* Knowledge of shared platform services (e.g. CoreDNS, cert‐manager, Dynatrace, Infoblox, Cloudability)* Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus or Dynatrace* Understanding of agile and DevOps ways of working ## What We Offer* Competitive salary and performance share bonus Generous pension contribution Flexible benefits cash pot* Private health cover 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays Share schemes including free shares* Ongoing learning, development and clear career progression## About Lloyds Banking GroupLloyds Banking Group is transforming to become a modern, engineering‐led organisation.
