Human Resources Director

Our client, an innovative pharmaceutical manufacturing facility is seeking a

Director of Human Resources

to lead its HR strategy and operations during an exciting growth phase. With a current workforce of approximately 250 employees and plans to expand to 280–300 within the next year, this non-unionized organization is committed to fostering a dynamic, collaborative environment that emphasizes innovation, operational excellence, and meeting stringent medical and technical standards.

This role is

fully on-site, five days per week

at the company's facility in

Arnprior, Ontario , ensuring hands‑on leadership and close collaboration with employees and the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the leadership team to forecast workforce needs, optimize organizational structures, and align HR strategies with business objectives.

Lead recruitment efforts focused on attracting top‑tier talent while ensuring cultural alignment and meeting technical skill requirements.

Design and implement programs for onboarding, leadership development, and performance management to foster employee growth and leadership capabilities.

Cultivate strong relationships between employees and management, addressing challenges and promoting a culture of trust, innovation, and teamwork.

Streamline policies, procedures, and processes to enhance efficiency while maintaining compliance with labor laws and industry standards.

Develop and execute tailored initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, address time and attendance challenges, and improve overall team performance.

Oversee safety initiatives and compliance through direct collaboration with the Health and Safety Manager.

Leadership & Team Structure The HR Director will report directly to an innovative and collaborative senior leader, serving as a trusted advisor to a seven‑member leadership team composed of both legacy and newer leaders. The HR Director will lead a team of four direct reports:

Two HR Business Partners (HRBPs):

Supporting multi‑shift operations and ensuring HR coverage across the plant.

Dedicated Recruiter:

Driving talent acquisition efforts to support organizational growth.

Health and Safety Manager:

Managing safety programs and compliance across the facility.

Qualifications

Proven HR leadership experience, ideally within manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments (preferred but not required)

Demonstrated success in partnering with leadership teams on strategic HR initiatives.

Expertise in labour laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.

Ability to simplify processes while maintaining compliance and alignment with organizational goals.

Experience with HRIS systems, particularly ADP.

A positive approach to fostering teamwork and driving operational improvements.

Benefits

Salary Range:

$125,000–$155,000 annually.
