Job Summary: The Pathways from Child Welfare and Community Services project is a multi‑year, multi‑site national study examining youth transitions from child welfare and community services into stable housing, precarious living situations, or homelessness across Canada. The project employs a mixed‑methods, participatory research approach, including longitudinal surveys, qualitative interviews, and youth‑engaged methods, to better understand pathways and outcomes for marginalized youth. Working across six provinces, the study prioritizes equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, and engages youth with lived experience, community organizations, and policymakers to inform practice and policy change.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator and Director, Resilience Research Centre, the YTS (Youth Transitions Study) National Project Coordinator provides leadership and coordination for a complex, multi‑site research project operating across multiple provinces and partner organizations. The role is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of all operational, administrative, and research coordination activities, including stakeholder engagement, financial tracking, and knowledge mobilization. The position supports participatory and community‑engaged research processes and plays a central role in maintaining alignment across project teams, timelines, and deliverables. The Project Coordinator also supports engagement with youth and individuals with lived experience, ensuring inclusive and ethical research practices.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and implement national, multi‑provincial project activities, monitoring timelines, milestones, risks, and deliverables while maintaining comprehensive project documentation and reporting systems.

Lead stakeholder engagement and partnership coordination, supporting collaboration with academic, community, policy partners, and individuals with lived experience across multiple institutions and jurisdictions.

Coordinate research operations including ethics submissions across jurisdictions, data collection oversight, and recruitment, onboarding, and training of research staff and co‑researchers.

Manage financial and administrative processes by tracking project budgets, processing honoraria and stipends, coordinating contracts, and supporting inter‑institutional funding arrangements in accordance with grant requirements.

Support knowledge mobilization and reporting activities by contributing to dissemination strategies, reports, presentations, funding updates, and other knowledge products for diverse audiences.

Organise and support governance, meetings, and project logistics, including committee meetings, travel coordination, event planning, and maintenance of governance documentation.

Required Qualifications

Master’s in a relevant field, with demonstrated experience in research and/or project management.

Experience managing complex, multi‑partner projects, preferably within research or community‑based settings.

Strong understanding of research processes, including ethics applications and qualitative and quantitative data collection coordination.

Advanced organizational and financial management skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines across jurisdictions.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience working with diverse stakeholders, including youth and individuals with lived experience, as well as academic and community partners.

Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Assets
