Your role and responsibilities As a Consultant Intern at IBM, you will assist clients in the selection, implementation, and production support of application packaged solutions, such as SAP, to meet client needs. Leveraging a growth mindset, you're ready and willing to deliver business value, wherever needed. In your role, you may be responsible for:

Assist clients in selection, implementation, and support of packaged software solutions.

Support strategic recommendations and leverage business knowledge to drive solutions for clients and their management.

Facilitate or support workshops, meetings, project management and stakeholder interviews.

Develop process maps to understand As-Is and To-Be scenarios

This position resides in Vancouver and is a 4-month work term commencing in September 2026. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work-term. Please note that MBA and PHD Candidates are not eligible for this program.

Required technical and professional expertise The successful candidate will possess a proactive mindset and a keen ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment. While technical skills and project management abilities are very important, the candidate's leadership potential, client interaction experience, and ability to work effectively within a team will be significant assets to their success in this role.

Initiative & Resourcefulness: Ability to take the lead and find innovative solutions independently.

Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex issues and devise effective solutions.

Communication Skills: Proficiency in conveying ideas clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats.

Time Management: Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Project Management & Planning: Basic understanding of organizing tasks, resources, and timelines to complete projects efficiently.

Documentation Skills: Ability to maintain accurate and organized records, reports, and other documentation.

Analytical Skills: Strong aptitude for evaluating data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.

Adaptability: Capacity to adjust to change.

Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Openness to assist clients in the design, business architect, process development, functional implementation, and support of applications.

Ability to thrive in an ever changing, technology-based Consulting environment.

A passion for innovative ideas, coupled with the ability to understand and assimilate different points of view.

Quantitative analysis skills and ability to derive recommendations informed by data and insights.

Willingness to travel.

Preferred technical and professional experience

Assist clients in selection, implementation, and support of packaged software solutions.

Leverages business knowledge to drive solutions for clients and their management.

Drive to overcome the most challenging or difficult obstacles and look for ways to improve results.

Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines, while maintaining focus in an environment with conflicting demands.

Leadership in Extracurricular Activities: Participation in activities that show leadership and a positive impact on the group or project.

Customer Service or Client Interaction Experience: Familiarity with engaging and managing customer or client relationships.

Presentation or Sales Pitch Experience: Experience delivering presentations or pitches to peers or clients, showcasing communication and persuasion skills.

Effective Client Management: Experience in understanding and addressing client needs and expectations.

Ability to translate business solutions into technical requirements.
