Job Title: Facilities Coordinator
Job Description
The Facilities Coordinator supports the maintenance and production teams by organizing maintenance requests, improving preventative maintenance documentation and processes, and coordinating site maintenance improvement tasks and inspections. This role also performs basic hands-on tasks within the facility, contributing directly to a safe, clean, and well-maintained manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Organize and manage the maintenance request system to ensure timely and accurate handling of work orders.
- Improve and maintain documentation and processes for the preventative maintenance system.
- Track and coordinate site maintenance improvement tasks, including inspections and follow-up actions.
- Perform basic in-factory hands-on tasks such as eye wash station cleaning and general housekeeping duties.
- Work alongside maintenance team members on basic maintenance and facility-related tasks.
- Use MS Excel and other MS Office tools to log, track, and report on maintenance activities and work orders.
- Communicate clearly with production, maintenance, and other teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance work.
- Provide basic reporting on maintenance activities, status of work orders, and improvement initiatives.
- Work both independently and collaboratively, ensuring that requests from different teams are appropriately prioritized.
- Support facility maintenance and repair activities in a manufacturing/production setting as needed.
Essential Skills
- Average to above-average proficiency in MS Office, with a strong focus on Excel.
- Very good oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience working effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to work autonomously, follow direction, and provide basic reporting.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand fundamental maintenance and manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with facilities maintenance, repair, or facility management.
- Previous experience managing work orders in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision while collaborating with multiple teams when needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Enrollment in or completion of an engineering or technology school program is an asset.
- Prior manufacturing work terms or staff experience in a production setting are considered beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and priorities.
- Attention to detail in documentation, tracking, and reporting of maintenance activities.

Work Environment
This is a full-time role based on a 40-hour work week, working 8-hour day shifts from Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. You will primarily work in a maintenance office located off the side of the production area, with approximately 80% of your time spent at a desk using a computer and 20% on the production floor. The environment combines office-based tasks such as planning, documentation, and reporting with on-floor activities related to inspections, basic housekeeping, and minor hands-on maintenance tasks in a manufacturing setting.
