Oxford Learning Guelph Clairfields is looking for enthusiastic, professional, and engaging part-time teachers to join our team. We currently have openings for:

• A High School Math Teacher
• A French Teacher
• Someone who can teach both Math and French would be a fantastic bonus!

We teach students HOW to learn French. We help students improve their academic and study skills in a small group setting. We have a lot of fun! Our class sizes are small with a maximum of three students per teacher. We provide all of the curriculum and lessons. Teachers do not need to lesson plan. Our teachers explain and guide students through the provided material and help students talk about their understanding.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (3:30pm - 8:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (10:00am - 1:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must. Candidates must possess a strong background in spoken and written French and English and be comfortable teaching up to a Grade 9 level, but up to Grade 12 is preferred. The candidate is required to instruct class sessions in French.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students or students enrolled in a master's program, with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 1-9 French core curriculum

What we're looking for:

• Currently entering at least the fourth year of a university program, or enrolled in a master’s program
• Strong knowledge of high school Math, French, or both
• A professional, energetic, and approachable personality
• An ability to build rapport with students and work well as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine interest in helping students learn, grow, and gain confidence
• Previous teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring experience is an asset
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details)

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching online and in-person
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
