Behind the scenes, but ahead of the curve: help us develop the next-generation public service media organization.

Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) is the backbone and the future-forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada. Our purpose is to constantly innovate to evolve and maintain the Corporation’s technology and infrastructure. We are the people that make stuff work. We make connections between media content, systems, people and places. We are the space in between.

A place with purpose. CBC/Radio-Canada has always been a highly regarded pioneer of media technology — not just in Canada but around the world. Today, we are transforming ourselves into a modern and agile public service media organization. Technology is the driving force, and we are the team making it happen.

Your Role

As a key member of the team, you will work closely with leadership and internal and external stakeholders to oversee the management and operation of our facilities across Eastern Canada. This portfolio includes one of our primary sites, the TBC (1.6 million sq. ft.), as well as several other locations between Ontario and the Maritimes. You will also maintain regular liaison with your counterparts in Western Canada.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for our real estate service providers, CBC/Radio-Canada business units, landlords and tenants, ensuring all operations align with CBC/Radio-Canada’s rules, policies and standards.

In this role, you will interpret and manage the expectations of both internal and external clients while ensuring the cost-effective and efficient use of CBC/Radio-Canada facilities. You will be responsible for making decisions that have a direct or indirect impact on internal services across one or more regions simultaneously.

As our Senior Advisor, Property Management, your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Develop, validate and implement processes to drive continuous improvement for our services, facilities and projects to maximize portfolio value.

  • Conduct benchmarking and comparative evaluations of provided or contracted services.

  • Propose service-level requirements to real estate leadership when procurement processes are launched.

  • Evaluate and resolve complex problems through in-depth analysis of the business context and needs.

Project Management

  • Collaborate with project teams to identify needs affecting sites under your responsibility, prioritizing tasks based on risk assessment and value creation.

  • Support the delivery of complex, long-term projects, ensuring they are tracked and monitored in co-ordination with contracted suppliers.

  • Co-ordinate and facilitate work execution with all internal and external stakeholders.

Performance Management

  • Review budget forecasts at the intervals determined by Finance, and administer and monitor expenses. Provide clear, concise financial information to departmental management.

  • Monitor service provider performance to ensure that contracted requirements and deliverables are met.

  • Prepare and submit reports and supporting documentation to the real estate leadership team; manage key milestones and performance action plans, ensuring deliverables meet agreed-upon deadlines.

This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per depatmental guidelines.

What You Bring:

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in real estate operations.

  • Professional designation such as CPM, FMA or a related certification in commercial construction is an asset.
