Job description
Job Title: Azure ArchitectLocation: Calgary, ABWork Mode: Onsite (5 days/week)Key Responsibilities
- Assess current on-premise infrastructure, applications, and workloads
- Identify components suitable for migration to Microsoft Azure
- Design end-to-end cloud architecture and migration strategies
- Recommend best practices for cloud adoption, including security, scalability, and cost optimization
- Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and application teams to define migration roadmaps
- Develop architecture diagrams, documentation, and technical proposals
- Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards
- Provide guidance on Azure services, governance, and operational models
- Support implementation teams during migration and deployment phases
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or Azure Architect
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services (compute, storage, networking, security)
- Experience with cloud migration strategies (lift-and-shift, re-platforming, re-architecting)
- Solid understanding of on-premise infrastructure (servers, virtualization, networking)
- Knowledge of identity and access management, security, and compliance in cloud environments
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in large-scale enterprise infrastructure transformation projects
