VP, Diversified Banking ! This role has the primary responsibility to develop and deliver strategies that optimize balance sheet performance when member-based loan growth is insufficient, while providing leadership, coaching, and support to the specialized lending team.
What’s the role? Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”), the VP, Diversified Banking oversees and is accountable for the operations and strategic direction of the credit union’s specialized lending activities, including third‑party transactions, syndications, participations, and liquidity deployment strategies. This role ensures alignment with the organization’s financial objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements. A primary responsibility of the VP, Diversified Banking, is to develop and deliver strategies that optimize balance sheet performance when member-based loan growth is insufficient, while providing leadership, coaching, and support to the specialized lending team.
Your duties will include:
Leads development and delivery of the specialized lending/third‑party transaction strategic plan, annual operating plan, and budget.
Uses industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging risk insights to shape strategy and guide decisions.
Leads the origination, structuring, and ongoing management of specialized lending and liquidity transactions (syndications, participations, whole‑loan purchases, secondary market activity, investment products, CUSO/correspondent partnerships).
Monitors markets and risk indicators to adjust tactics and optimize liquidity deployment opportunities.
Provides people leadership for the specialized lending management team (oversight, coaching, development, performance expectations, succession planning).
Approves transactions within delegated authority and escalates higher‑limit items to the appropriate committees.
Ensures end‑to‑end risk management processes are in place across credit, operational, reputational, and regulatory risk.
Ensures regulatory/policy compliance, partners with Risk/Compliance/Legal, oversees second‑line testing and audit responses, and prepares executive/Board reporting on activity, risk, and performance.
What are we looking for?
Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline (minimum 4 years full‑time study or equivalent).
Advanced degree preferred.
Advanced understanding of credit union operations, principles, and values.
Minimum fifteen (15) years of progressive experience managing a financial services environment, including specialized lending, syndications, and liquidity management.
Minimum ten (10) years in a senior lending, treasury, or capital markets role.
Superior knowledge of specialized lending, third‑party transactions, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
Solid understanding of the competitive environment in the financial marketplace and local communities within the credit union’s market area.

Career Band Range (Annual Salary) $153,407.00 - $193,500.00
The posted salary range is designed to reflect a broad career band, encompassing a variety of roles within our organization and serves as a general guideline. Your final compensation will be tailored to your unique skills, experience, and the responsibilities of the role.
