Job descriptionRole Overview The Silicon Validation Technician supports silicon characterization and validation activities by operating test equipment, collecting data, assisting engineers, and maintaining lab hardware. This position is hands‑on and requires strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently during off shift and rotating shift hours.
Job Responsibilities
Operate ATE systems (e.g., Teradyne J750) and Evaluation Boards to support data collection.
Build, assemble, and inventory board kits for characterization and validation activities.
Assist engineers with data analysis and preparation of internal/external characterization reports.
Perform hardware modifications on boards, sockets, and fixtures as directed by test engineers (e.g., soldering, rework).
Support lab operations including shipping/receiving of silicon samples, boards, and test hardware.
Conduct majority of second and third shift data collection (afternoons, evenings, or nights).
Maintain lab equipment, ensure proper documentation, and follow ESD/lab safety practices.
Key Qualifications
College diploma or equivalent technical credential with 4+ years of related industry experience.
Strong debugging, rework, and soldering skills (including fine‑pitch components).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, especially during off shift operations.
Hands‑on experience with PCB design concepts, schematic reading, and board‑level troubleshooting.
Familiarity with benchtop lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, DMMs) and handler systems.
Strong organizational skills with ability to track hardware, samples, and test materials.
