The Developer & Agile Associate (SAP Build Work Zone) will lead the next generation of SAP technology, working in a hybrid learning environment that balances hands‑on development with structured professional growth. 20% of the time is dedicated to mastering SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and becoming an internal subject‑matter expert. A clear narrative of transitioning from legacy systems (e.g., SAP Portal) to modern UI frameworks such as UI5/Fiori. Specific examples of managing backlogs or facilitating stand‑ups in Jira or Azure DevOps. Experience developing sustainable, high‑quality custom solutions and documenting issue resolutions. Understanding of change‑management procedures and policies, preferably using SAP Solution Manager. Responsibilities
Build and maintain Fiori applications and UI Integration cards within the SAP Build Work Zone environment. Act as the team’s Agile lead, running daily stand‑ups, managing the Jira/Azure DevOps backlogs, and ensuring clean documentation and project momentum. Review functional specifications and present proposed technical designs to development leads to ensure alignment with business requirements and industry best practices. Perform operational routine activities and bug fixes by troubleshooting problems across multiple environments and operating platforms. Engage in structured learning to master SAP BTP and advanced Work Zone features, transitioning from legacy Portal environments to modern cloud architectures. Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in JavaScript, web development, or a related SAP module (e.g., ABAP, SuccessFactors, SAP Enterprise Portal). 3 years of experience in production support, including exposure to configuration and development. 1 year of experience in a consulting or high‑touch internal service capacity is preferred. Experience participating in at least one full lifecycle of an SAP implementation or upgrade. Web Fundamentals: Proficiency in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5. SAP Development Tools: Experience with SAPUI5 controls, Fiori Design platforms, WebIDE, and Fiori Launchpad configuration. Backend Awareness: Basic understanding of ERP systems, databases, and ABAP Objects. Integration: Knowledge of Workflow, Universal Worklists (UWL), and exposing portal pages to mobile devices. Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with HCM Processes and Forms, Java development, and CSRF token handling. Proven experience working in Scrum/Agile environments with the ability to keep a team on task. Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot development and production issues across multiple operating platforms. Strong ability to bridge the gap between technical and non‑technical personnel through professional written and spoken communication. High attention to detail and disciplined in “Scrum” practices, managing deadlines, substitutions, and batch processing. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Certifications (nice to have): SAP Certified Development Associate (SAPUI5/Fiori or SAP Extension Suite), Agile/Scrum Certification. Additional Information
Preferred location: Candidates in the lower mainland who can work in a hybrid setting. Remote candidates across Canada who can work in PST will be considered. Contractors must supply their own Windows 11 laptop for the duration of the assignment. Contractors must supply their own smartphone to gain access to the organization’s network.
