Business Unit: Fitch Ratings

Category: Data & Analytics

Location: Toronto, ON, CA

About the Team The Risk Enhanced Analytics (Risk EA) team is responsible for supporting Ratings Risk by performing data analysis, carrying out ad hoc project initiatives, and overseeing operations and reporting. Risk EA serves as a central resource for the Ratings Risk teams in their data and reporting needs.

Risk EA’s broad scope includes operational duties, internal & regulatory reporting, data retrieval & analysis, automation & product development, system development, management & support, and infrastructure management.

Risk EA is responsible for the full data lifecycle — from data retrieval and analysis through to the automation and development of reporting solutions and web-based tools that deliver insights to stakeholders across Ratings Risk. The team ensures data quality, accessibility, and efficiency across the group.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Develop and maintain internal reporting solutions that deliver timely and accurate ratings performance insights to support decision‑making across Ratings Risk.

Drive automation initiatives to streamline and scale reporting processes, reducing manual effort and increasing consistency across the function.

Contribute to the full data lifecycle — from sourcing and processing raw ratings data through to building web‑based tools and dashboards that make insights readily accessible to stakeholders within Ratings Risk.

Support the publication of Transition and Default Studies, ensuring alignment with Fitch's global regulatory compliance requirements.

Conduct targeted, ad‑hoc data analysis to address specific business needs that fall outside of the core automated reporting suite.

Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Ratings Risk to continuously improve the quality, coverage, and usability of the team's data products.

You May be a Good Fit if

5–10 years of experience in credit rating analysis, credit rating modelling, or a related quantitative financial field

Strong proficiency in Python, with hands‑on experience applying it to data analysis and automation tasks

Proven ability to work with complex datasets and translate data into clear, actionable insights

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment

What Would Make You Stand Out

Experience working with AI Agents and integrating them into analytical or operational workflows

Proficiency in SQL for data retrieval and manipulation

Experience with DevOps practices and tooling (e.g. GitHub, Airflow, Kubernetes)
