Purpose We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager II, Consulting. Our team includes world‑class experts and dynamic go‑getters. This is a full‑time position based in Calgary, Alberta.
The Project Manager, reporting to the Director, Business Operations & Execution, is responsible for leading and delivering digital projects across Canada, the US, and LATAM. These projects span key industries including Oil & Gas, mining, and other resource sectors, and are aligned with strategic business objectives and operational priorities.
This role involves managing all phases of project execution from planning and resourcing to delivery and closeout while ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and quality standards. The Project Manager will oversee cross‑functional teams, drive operational excellence, and support vertical P&L outcomes through disciplined execution and continuous improvement.
Success in this role requires strong project governance, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration across Worley Consulting and Base Business to develop integrated solutions. A key focus will be on expanding project scope, identifying opportunities for growth within existing engagements, and enhancing value delivery to clients. The Project Manager will also contribute to talent development, client satisfaction, and market responsiveness to support sustainable business growth across the region.
Responsibilities
Execution of project scope to a defined budget and schedule; manages and documents change orders, seeking customer approval prior to changes.
Ensures customer satisfaction with the agreed‑upon deliverables.
Is accountable for office and site safety for the project team.
Recommends and selects the project team.
Manages mobilization to plan.
Assures all team members have the appropriate tools and equipment.
Mentors Project Engineers and junior team members.
Identifies and provides any specialized knowledge and training for the project team.
Evaluates team member performance.
Identifies opportunities to grow existing project scopes and expand service offerings.
Proactively seeks and develops new business opportunities within existing and adjacent markets.
Actively contributes to the PMO through process improvement, knowledge sharing, and governance support.
What you will bring
Over 8 years’ experience managing projects or deploying advanced automation, instrumentation, and control in industrial settings.
Proven performance leading technical work as a Project Manager.
Demonstrated capabilities to build relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
Strong commercial acumen and experience in various commercial contracting models/risk profiles (Lump Sum/Fixed Price/Target Price/Reimbursable, etc.).
Proven experience in Waterfall and Agile project management.
Competent in MS Project, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
Experience managing a portfolio of projects and working with clients for pull‑through work.
Motivational leadership style and strong communication skills with ability to develop high‑performance culture.
Ability to identify, quantify, and mitigate risks effectively through positive decision making.
Ability to manage project change effectively with project team and clients.
Capable of working with a diverse global project team working in an office and remotely.
Experience working in Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Renewables and Mining is an asset.
Must be located or willing to commute on a regular basis to Houston, Texas.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Required
A degree in either engineering, I&C, automation.
Willing to travel an average of 25%.
