The Production Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire night shift production cycle within a state-of-the-art food processing facility specializing in meat and pork products. As a Production Manager, you will report directly to the Operations Leader, ensuring that all manufacturing targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This position requires a professional who can navigate the complexities of a unionized environment while leveraging advanced automation technology to optimize throughput.

This specific site in Winnipeg is renowned for its commitment to innovation and technological integration. As the Production Manager, you will be at the forefront of this evolution, managing large, diverse teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The schedule for this role is Sunday to Thursday, providing a consistent shift structure with flexible start times to accommodate the dynamic needs of the production floor. Responsibilities
• Oversee and direct the nightly activities of the production department to ensure all manufacturing goals are achieved.
• Lead and manage a large team of production supervisors and floor staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Monitor and optimize the use of advanced automation and tech within the facility to enhance production efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols, quality standards, and health and safety regulations (HACCP/SQF).
• Navigate and manage labor relations within a unionized workforce, ensuring compliance with collective agreements.
• Utilize SAP to track production data, manage inventory, and generate detailed operational reports for leadership.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize equipment downtime and ensure the reliability of technical systems.
• Implement process improvement initiatives to reduce waste and increase overall plant productivity.
• Manage shift transitions effectively, ensuring a seamless handoff of information between the day and night teams.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1+ years of experience in a dedicated Management role.
• Previous experience in food processing (specifically meat or pork), pharmaceuticals, or health and beauty industries is highly desirable.
• Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, particularly with large, diverse workforces.
• Strong technical aptitude and experience working with highly automated manufacturing systems.
• Proven ability to handle labor relations and grievance procedures in a unionized environment.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address production bottlenecks in real-time.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with the Operations Leader and cross-functional departments.
• Ability to work a Sunday to Thursday PM shift with flexible start times.
• Experience working within a large-scale, complex organization is considered an asset.
