Job description(Non-Union) Full-time, 35 hours/week, Hybrid Location: Vaughan, ON (Cityview Blvd) Status: This position is to fill a current vacancy Salary Grade: 18 ($133,824- $167,280 annually)
We’re looking for a collaborative and results‑driven professional to lead the construction and execution of Distributed Energy Resource (DER) projects - including battery energy storage, solar, natural gas generation, and microgrid solutions.
In this role, you will provide leadership, technical expertise, and oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements. You’ll play a key role in bringing innovative energy solutions to life while supporting Alectra Energy Solutions’ continued growth.
What You’ll Do Project Leadership & Execution
Provide day‑to‑day oversight of construction projects to optimize performance, timelines, and budgets
Lead the coordination of design, contractors, utilities, suppliers, and on‑site activities
Oversee Project Managers and Analysts, and directly manage projects when needed
Ensure successful project delivery from construction through commissioning and transition to operations
Monitor compliance with project agreements, including land leases and site host arrangements
Planning, Budgeting & Reporting
Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and construction schedules
Prepare and present regular project performance reports, including variance analysis
Establish and maintain processes to ensure projects remain on track financially and operationally
Provide updates and insights to senior leadership, including Directors, VPs, and EVP
Contract & Vendor Management
Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts with contractors, suppliers, and consultants
Lead procurement activities including evaluating RFP/RFQ submissions and awarding contracts
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and project stakeholders
Validate contractor pricing, cost estimates, and change orders
Technical & Regulatory Oversight
Support regulatory compliance, including submissions related to OEB licenses and IESO agreements
Maintain knowledge of equipment warranties and oversee related claims
Ensure adherence to all safety, operational, and corporate policies and procedures
Support commissioning, energization, and overall project lifecycle execution
Strategic Growth & Collaboration
Contribute to the development of new energy solutions, designs, and project proposals
Support business development efforts by providing technical insights and costing expertise
Collaborate across teams to support ongoing and new business initiatives
Participate in and promote Alectra’s Safety Management System (SMS) program

Who You Are Education & Technical Knowledge
Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation considered an asset
PMP certification considered an asset
Membership with the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS) is an asset
Experience
10+ years of experience in construction of energy‑related projects
5+ years of leadership or management experience
Proven experience managing EPC or similar large‑scale projects
Experience in areas such as battery storage, solar, microgrids, or other energy solutions
Strong track record managing budgets, schedules, and contractor/vendor relationships
Experience working with utilities, regulatory bodies (OEB, IESO), and external stakeholders
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
Strong project and portfolio management capabilities
Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, and related tools
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
Compensation
At Alectra, Compensation for non‑union positions is determined within a defined salary range for each role. Placement within the salary range depends on several factors, including qualifications, relevant experience, and alignment with the role’s requirements. We consider internal equity and market competitiveness to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization.
This position is eligible to receive an annual incentive payment based on a combination of individual and Company performance.

Hybrid: This role is based in a hybrid environment, allowing for a mix of remote and in‑office work to support team collaboration and business needs.
Occasional travel to construction sites.
