Job descriptionEngineering Co-op Student – Electrification & Infrastructure Projects Temporary - 8-12 months In-Office | Toronto, ON, Canada $26.14/hr This position is ideal for an Engineering Co-op Student looking to gain the knowledge and processes involved in design deliverables and playing a key role in both small- and large-scale infrastructure deployment. You will be supporting multiple technical leads across varying electrification projects to support day-to-day drawing development, report write-ups, design coordination, and supporting first pass responses to any technical queries from clients. RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation and updating of engineering drawings, including single-line diagrams and layouts, using AutoCAD or similar software Support document standardization, file and folder structures, and general best practices. Support engineering calculations, equipment selection reviews, and technical analysis for electrification and infrastructure projects Assist in reviewing engineering and shop drawings to support design optimization, procurement, and utility coordination Participate in site visits to gather field data, verify conditions, support conceptual design development, and assist during construction and commissioning activities Assist in gathering and documenting client requirements to support concept development, proposals, and project execution Support coordination with internal teams, consultants, vendors, utilities, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) Contribute to the development of project scopes, technical deliverables, schedules, and responses to utility or permitting comments Support preparation of technical reports, presentations, and client-facing documentation Other duties as required QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering program (Electrical, Energy Systems, or related discipline) Completed foundational engineering coursework relevant to your discipline Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Interest in infrastructure, energy systems, or decarbonization Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software is considered an asset but not required Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills Understanding of transformers, switchgear, and other major components of an electrical distribution system While all qualified candidates are invited to apply, we particularly welcome applications from women, persons with disabilities, First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, members of visible minorities, and 2SLGBTQ+ persons.
