Procurement & Pricing Manager
based out of our
Homes by Lake Country
location near
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan . This role involves managing end-to-end purchasing and establishing the core assortment through sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the supply of construction materials, building products, fixtures, and related services across all seven home and building locations. It is a hands-on, analytical role requiring expertise in negotiation and inventory management, focused on ensuring consistency across locations while maintaining exceptional service standards. What You Will Do
Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, and safety principles with a strong customer-focused approach. Provide legendary service at all touchpoints through various communication channels. Ensure consistent and optimized core product assortment across all locations to meet customer needs, streamline operations, and support sales performance. Oversee procurement and sourcing of materials and products to ensure cost-effective, timely, and high-quality supply. Manage vendors, negotiate terms, maintain backup suppliers, and monitor performance to ensure reliable supply and operational efficiency. Monitor inventory levels and stock availability to maximize product availability and minimize shortages or overstocks. Support pricing strategies and ensure margin protection through accurate cost management and competitive pricing. Prepare and manage professional/contractor quotes, bulk packages, and job-lot orders to meet project and contractor requirements. Maintain accurate data, generate reports, and enforce item governance to support informed business decisions. Identify and mitigate supply chain, inventory, and operational risks to protect business performance. Adhere to the Safety Management and Asset Protection systems, policies, procedures, records, and training requirements. Actively collaborate with leaders in the (HABS) business unit and in community events in the Prince Albert area. Embody our values of Honesty, Innovation, Responsibility and Respect.
Who You Will Work With
Reporting to the Director, Home and Building Solutions, you will work closely with Store Team Leaders, Professional/Contractor teams, Operational/Logistics, Inventory control, Finance/Asset Protection, and Marketing to ensure a successful customer experience and project execution. This role is highly collaborative and requires strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills to support both customer satisfaction and internal efficiency.
Who You Are
You are looking for a career in Home and Building Solutions and Customer Service and: You have a minimum of 5 years experience in purchasing or category management within lumber and building materials (LBM), hardware retail, or LBM distribution, with multi-site experience strongly preferred. You have demonstrated success in negotiating costs, rebates, freight, and payment terms to maximize value. You have proven ability to source suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing and terms. You have strong working knowledge of LBM Categories and yard operations, including grades, dimensions, seasonality, and handling constraints. You are proficient in purchasing and point-of-sale systems, inventory management tools, and Microsoft Excel. You have strong forecasting skills with a data-driven approach, while remaining grounded in real-time store operations and customer demand. You work well under pressure and are adept at balancing and meeting multiple strict deadlines. You understand receiving challenges, freight constraints, and product movement to make informed operational decisions. You have strong oral and written communication skills and communicate effectively using multiple channels. You are attentive to detail and hold precision and accuracy as core values. You are available to work a flexible schedule; some evenings and weekends are required. You have a valid driver’s license (class 5 minimum) for regular day travel; in addition, you must be able to perform the physical tasks common to the construction industry.
