Director, Business Development Responsible for generating new business opportunities, creating strategic proposals, presentations and multiple client entry strategies. Independent contributor role.
Responsibilities
Lead generation and prospecting: market research to source new business opportunities.
Communication: letters, emails, proposals, presentations; leads and directs strategy across internal and external stakeholders.
Relationship management: build long‑term account value with executive C‑level relationships; manage internal relationships to meet client criteria.
Strategic planning: develop compelling strategies for client contact, relationship management, bidding and long‑term planning.
Database management: maintain accurate records of all client contacts and opportunities.
Pipeline management: build a healthy pipeline and forecast future business wins accurately.
Time management: multitask, maintain urgency, and meet deadlines.
Event management: plan and support client events.
Reporting: complete year‑to‑date results, strategic plans and annual budgets.
Negotiations: negotiate contracts, develop proposals, present and gain consensus.
Project management: lead or liaise with project teams and SMEs.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years in an active hunter sales role with unlimited commissions.
High resilience and entrepreneurial mindset.
Proven sales success results.
Willingness to adopt a proven sales model and learn a new go‑to‑market approach.
Hands‑on sales professional focused on process and relationship building internally and externally.
Territory management expertise, preferably in Senior Living, Retirement or Hotel Hospitality.
Strong accountability, integrity and assertiveness.
Travel availability minimum 30% of the time.
