Job descriptionAsset Manager Asset Manager is responsible for driving asset performance, reliability insights, and data transparency across a highly automated distribution center. This role serves as the analytical backbone of the maintenance and engineering organization—transforming raw assets, CMMS, WMS, and controls data into actionable insights that improve uptime, reduce cost, and support long‑term capital and maintenance strategy.
The Asset Manager partners closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Controls/PLC Engineering, and Finance to ensure assets are maintained, utilized, and invested in based on facts—not assumptions.
Responsibilities
Analyze asset performance metrics including uptime, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, availability, and utilization
Lead a team of two, responsible for planning and parts oversight
Identify chronic failure modes, repeat downtime drivers, and reliability risks
Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) initiatives with data insights
Track effectiveness of corrective actions and long‑term fixes
Own CMMS data quality (asset hierarchy, PM compliance, failure codes, work order accuracy)
Audit and standardize asset naming, classifications, and failure coding
Partner with maintenance leadership to ensure accurate labor, parts, and downtime capture
Develop dashboards and scorecards that reflect true asset health
Analyze PM effectiveness and recommend optimization (frequency, scope, condition‑based triggers
Support transition from reactive to predictive maintenance using trend analysis
Identify early warning indicators for asset degradation
Assist in PM rationalization efforts during maintenance organization maturity phases
Analyze spare parts consumption, critical spares exposure, and obsolescence risk
Support min/max optimization and criticality assessments
Track maintenance cost per asset, cost per unit, and lifecycle cost trends
Partner with Procurement and Finance on cost control and forecasting
Support asset lifecycle planning and replacement strategies
Build data‑driven business cases for capital requests and major repairs
Track asset age, condition, and risk to operations
Support post‑implementation reviews for capital projects and upgrades
Partner with Operations to correlate asset performance with throughput, labor, and service levels
Support Controls/PLC Tech with trend analysis and system performance insights
Provide executive‑level summaries for leadership reviews and planning sessions
Act as a key contributor during peak readiness planning (BTS, holiday, promotions)

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field preferred
8+ years experience in asset analytics, maintenance engineering, reliability, or industrial operations
Experience working in highly automated facilities (conveyance, sortation, ASRS, robotics preferred)
Previous Management experience preferred
Strong experience with CMMS systems (Maximo, SAP PM, eMaint, Infor, etc.)
Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred
Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into operational action
Reliability or Maintenance certifications (CMRP, CRL, Six Sigma, TPM) preferred
Experience supporting PLC/controls‑driven systems preferred
Exposure to predictive maintenance technologies or condition monitoring preferred
Retail, e‑commerce, or high‑volume distribution experience preferred
High attention to detail and data integrity
Ability to influence through facts and insights
Comfort operating between maintenance, engineering, and operations
Executive presence in presenting complex data simply
Bias toward action, prevention, and continuous improvement

Hiring Range $101,200.00 USD - $126,500.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
